Ephesians 4:4-6
Ephesians 4:4–6 could be broken down into its individual parts and each one studied, but I believe the main topic we would find, and what Paul is trying to convey here is the oneness of God. Even though He exists in the trinity, He is as “One.” There is only one true and holy God, and He is the Almighty God of heaven; above all, through all, and in all of us.
This is a promise that there is only one true God, and that is the Almighty God of heaven.
We should all give thanks to God in reverence of His greatness. It is through His almighty power that we are saved; not by our good works as if we need to earn our salvation or simply because we think that our good outweighs our bad. The Apostle Peter declares in Acts 4:12 (NKJV), “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” The Apostle Paul declares in Philippians 2:5–11, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” It is to the credit of Almighty God that we may be saved—and saved by Him only and through Him only. Our obedience to Him, our works done for Him and through Him are a reflection of what He has done for us through our salvation in Him. Amen and praise the Lord!
Dear Lord,
Thank You for being the one true Almighty God who knows our thoughts as well as our every move. Thank You for being so loving and caring to each of us. Help us all to share Your greatness with those around us each day. In Jesus name I pray, amen.
